Dear Doctor,

Give us a day of your time, Give us 2 days a month, or any of your precious time . . . Name your needs, your specialty and your timeframe.

Hardly a day goes by without some reference in the media to the soul destroying drought that is afflicting many of our rural communities.

Those of us associated with the medical world know of another, longer and even more pernicious drought. I refer to the lack of suitably qualified doctors in country hospitals.

In spite of many government programs and numerous incentives the shortage of doctors is becoming more acute.

This represents a pressing need and a great opportunity and “Doctors to the Bush” is an initiative designed to meet that challenge.

We have a dedicated Consultant seeking to recruit willing Doctors/ Specialists and arrange suitable assignments for you in hospitals that desperately need your skills.

We will, after consultation/briefing with you:

Organise a suitable assignment
Arrange transportation without cost to you
Arrange suitable accommodation, again at no cost to you
Negotiate a generous pay scale for the work involved and
Guarantee that you are paid within 14 working days of completing the assignment.

Perhaps you can undertake one day a week or month, or maybe one week every 2 or 3 months or perhaps 2 or 3 weeks every year. Just let us know what you would like to do and we will arrange it for you. Talk it over with us.

You may well find this an uplifting experience and you will get the chance to meet and to help country people who are regarded as the salt of the earth. At the same time you will be well rewarded for your efforts.
